We stayed here for ten nights in early August. On arrival we were greeted by the whole family despite it being very late, and given a tour of the house. Jackleen and salvatore were very welcoming and even brought us a bottle of wine made by salvatore from his own grapes.
The house was a little remote (no problem for us, but a car is necessary) and up a steep winding road. This was no inconvenience as the views on the road are stunning, and all areas worth visiting are within easy reach by car. The marina del vecchiano beach is free and less than 30 minutes drive, with Pisa and Lucca just 20 minutes each.
The house itself is clean and well presented. The garden is especially beautiful and we enjoyed the opportunity to eat fresh fruit and herbs as encouraged by salvatore!
The only minor disappointment was finding out that tthe pool no longer exists, however with good family friendly beaches nearby this was not the problem that it first appeared... more
