    Condo/Apartment –
    1 Bedroom, 1 Bathroom, Sleeps 4
In the beautiful Chianti region 18 kilometers from the center of Florence, Raffiacane is a traditional farmhouse standing at one end of 6 hectares of olive grove and vineyard on a hill overlooking the Pesa river, a tributary of the Arno. The abandoned farm and buildings were restored in the 1970’s.
Recently, one section of the farmhouse has been remodeled as a year round vacation apartment. With a private entrance and patio, 50 square meters (530 square feet) are divided into a large bedroom, a bathroom and a fully equipped live-in kitchen.
Florence is roughly halfway between Rome and Milan, about 3 hours from either city, on the A-1 (E-80) motorway. Raffiacane is convenient for any number of daytrips around Tuscany. Florence, Siena, Pisa, Lucca, and Arezzo are all close. The sea...

In the winter months there will be an extra charge for heating, based on the quantity of gas actually used, as measured by the meter. The price of the gas will be based on the average retail price quoted on the chamber of commerce website for the week of your stay.

Raffiacane is the perfect location if you want to experience much of Tuscany because many of the major cities are within 30 minutes to an hour from this location. Mastering the roadways was our biggest challenge however and you must have a car (we rented our from Hertz in Florence) and good, up-to-date GPS. Once you've figured out the roundabouts, driving is really fun because everything is marked well. The nearby village of Cerbaia has two nice, small markets with helpful locals who will guide you to make good food choices. It has a laundry, post office, gas station and a weekly market on Thursdays in the town square. Some of the nearby towns to visit include Montelupo if you're interested in Tuscan pottery (check out ND Dolffi), Volterra for alabaster, Scarperia for legendary knives and blades, Florence for the art of the ages and the train and tram system. We encourage you to use the tram if you're visiting Florence because you can pick it up in Scandicci, not too many kms away... more
