What a fascinating and interesting place northern Sardinia is. The apartment was also fascinating. It was so well equipped with glasses, crockery, utensils etc. to a far higher standard than we are used to, and the general decoration , books on the shelves, maps from the 60's and so on, and everything about the place suggested to us that it was probably owned by an elderly relative who no longer needed it, and that the family had decided to let it as a holiday property.
It is in a large apartment complex, hidden away off the main road to Porto Rondo. We were met by Giovanna at a nearby petrol station and guided to it; otherwise we would never have found it. Giovanna was friendly and helpfull; I don't speak Italian and she doesn't speak English, but we just about managed to make ourselves understood.
