To say that I spent an inordinate amount of time trying to find the perfect house for our trip to Donegal is an understatement. I finally settled on this house as it seemed incredible value for money- and it was. We are only a family of 4, but this house sleeps 9, and we had more than enough space to spread out and relax. And relax we did. Ireland, like our native Scotland, can have unpredictable weather, so we came prepared for 4 seasons in a day and often got it. But what better way to enjoy it than a crystal clear view of a part of the wild Atlantic coast line- with an open peat fire- and numerous books to read?
The house was very well equipped. Our only quibble was no cafetiere- turns out we only had to ask our hostess who had lots to offer us- after we had bought one in a nearby town! Although there is WiFi, it is very sporadic and hard to pick up. A router in the house would be a quick way to solve this, but my advice is try to enjoy your holiday without expecting to...
