It's been over a year now since we stayed for 1 month at La Maison de L'Isle but I'm delighted to be able to recommend this property to anyone heading for the beautiful town of Isle sur La Sorgue. The town is a MUST VISIT for anyone venturing to Provence, with it's ancient buildings and waterwheels. There are 2 market days per week where fabulous food of all kinds is sold.
The house is over a hundred years old but has been renovated beautifully and with great taste.The owner, Valerie, has also maintained it's historical integrity. (It has 2 storeys PLUS ground floor)
The location is great - literally 50 metres and just around the corner from the hustle and bustle of the village. But it is also very quiet - the only sounds we would hear were the distant chiming of the church bells.
Valerie was a delight to deal with, helpful in every way. She also speaks very good English so we were able to converse when our limited French fell in a heap. So anyone feeling a little nervous... more
