    Additional Location Information
We are located in Central Harlem and is in a central transportation hub steps away from all subway, bus and Metro North lines. There are plenty of restaurants to eat in at different price points with diverse cuisines. Parking on the street is available as is a public parking lot. We are within walking distance to the Studio Museum of Harlem, the world famous Apollo theatre and plenty of churches should you wish to visit a church service. Harlem is a dynamic and changing neighborhood and each week new shopping and entertainment venues are added to our neighborhood. It is moments from the rest of Manhattan, but is dramatically more economical to stay in, leaving you more money to enjoy all New York has to offer.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 11, 2014 for a stay in March 2014

We'd heard a lot of good things about the direction of Harlem these days, and our stay at the Red Door bore all this out. First of all, the place is very roomy and reasonably priced--especially when compared to NYC hotels, which tend to be both tiny and expensive. This place had a nice living room, full bathroom, small but complete kitchen with granite counters, and a nice-sized bedroom with a king bed (not all rooms are king). The floors are oak throughout. You are a 5-minute walk from the 2, 3 trains and less than 10 minutes from the A,B,C trains. You can be in midtown in under 30 minutes. The place was spotlessly clean, and Craig was very prompt and helpful in getting us checked in and out. Diane was in charge of all the pre-stay e-mails and was likewise attentive and helpful. In short, this place was all we hoped for--a comfortable, quiet place in a neighborhood we really wanted to see. more

4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2013 for a stay in August 2013

3 of us stayed in this apartment for a week in August 2013. It is gorgeously decorated, spacious, has everything you need and is in a funky area with character. It is very easy to get to this flat if you are coming from La Guardia--a bus ($2.50) takes you within 2 or 3 blocks. When we got there the owner met us and showed us around. He also recommended restaurants and a grocery store and told us where the subway was (also 2 or 3 blocks away).
We had stayed in an apartment in NYC before--close to Times Square, but this one was less expensive, quieter, bigger and had more amenities. The beds were super comfortable and we were thankful for the air-con whenever we got home.
We bought a week-long subway pass and used it and used it and used it. It is so easy to get anywhere on the subway and easy to get to this flat (by the 125th Street station). The area has character and we loved it. We would stay in this apartment and this area again.
