Having visited all of the other Hawaiian Islands, except for Lana’i, we decided to visit Maui over the holidays in 2012-13. When you are going to spend a month on Maui, or any new place in the world, you look for a really unique location and accomodation.
As we looked through our options online we knew we had found it when we saw the Starwind Cottage listing. We booked a whole year in advance because there was simply no second choice for us.
Starwind Cottage is a place where we could be at home in the most beautiful setting. The photos are excellent but they cannot capture the serenity and magic of Starwind.
From the deck, as you look south toward Haleakala you feel that you are out of place and time, looking at a landscape at a moment in creation. (Not that at creation, amenities such as hot-tubs, luxurious beds and endless bath towels, a beautiful kitchen and bamboo floors were around!)
