    Property description
    Rental Home –
    1 Bedroom, 1 Bathroom, Sleeps 2
A secret house in a secret garden, the treehouse is a romantic perch in the rainforest for two to linger. There is a queen sized bed, cedar hot tub on the lanai, outdoor shower, food prep area, one bathroom with composting toilet, living room to relax & listen to music and watch videos or read and converse. The space is intimate and private, a playhouse for grownups.

This is a real treehouse, a small space built mid canopy in the forest, overlooking tree ferns and almost eye level with the upper canopy.

The treehouse is less than five minutes from the gate to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. Volcano Village is a short walk, with restaurants and galleries.

The treehouse was conceived as a honeymoon spot, and we also offer a pavilion in the rainforest for weddings, anniversary...

    Additional Location Information
The neighborhood is heavily forested. You are aware there are neighbors, but signs of them are mostly like lanterns in the night. The treehouse is fairly deep in the forest, but not so deep as to be hard to walk to. There are restaurants and galleries nearby, and the big feature is Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. The grounds of the house invite you stay and wander through, carry your morning coffee up to the pavilion and watch and listen to the forest. Parking is on site. You will need a car.

My husband was very pleased when I told him that I'd booked a tree house for our time on the Big Island (2 nights). I know I could have found cheaper lodging, but it was worth the location and the enjoyment that we had while exploring the area. We arrived later than expected due to the weather that day. I... more

Treehouse. Bucket List. Fulfilled. It was magical. The property, from the moon gate to the winding path, to the diverse and fragrant orchids in the Ohia trees, to the magnificent tree house itself... utterly enchanting. Every detail was perfect. The tree house was an architectural phenom. Hand carved doors, custom stained glass windows, thoughtfully and outfitted kitchen were extra special.... more

Loved staying here. When you walk from where you park, to the front door, you feel like you are really in the jungle. There are twists and turns and lush tropical foliage. The treehouse is very charming. Perfect for a romantic getaway. Taking a shower outdoors is the best! A one of a kind experience. I will say, we were... more

Management response:

Aloha and thanks for taking the time to meaningfully review and comment. There is some tropically scented air spray in the bathroom. Dampness cannot be avoided in the rainforest. As for Volcano Village, it is very small. There are also two places to eat inside the park, and a couple more lunch spots in the Village - both cafes. Cafe... more
