We returned to Maui for the 3rd time in 15 months, this trip we stayed at Honua Kai in the Hokulani Building condo #816. The unit is very nice, the complex had everything we needed. A small food store, gym, Duke's bar and restaurant, we didn't use the on site pools, we came for the ocean and the heat. The booking was easy thanks to Harris Hawaii, Brooke met us at the property and explained everything we needed to know, very friendly and very knowledgable about Maui. Our balcony gave us a view of the sunsets, and a great view (if you bring binoculars) of the whales tail slapping and breeching. The only reason I did not rate this property as "excellent" is that on this side of the building the highway noise was constant if you went out on the balcony, other than that, it was perfect.
Perhaps one improvement, the safe is on the floor in the closet so you have to get down on your hands and knees to use it, this might be difficult for some seniors, it would be nicer if it was...
