    'L'Etoile de Mer' is a recently-constructed, four-bedroom, three-bathroom, detached villa, with a private, heated pool and wooded gardens front and rear. Located on the edge of La Tranche-sur-mer in the charming hamlet of La Terriere, it is within easy walking or cycling distance of a superb beach and also the shops, bars and restaurants of the town. Beautiful forest walks and cycle trails are on the doorstep, leading to the beaches and beyond. Several nearby beaches to choose from suitable for families, sun worshippers and surfing dudes alike! Our pool has lovely surroundings and a shaded terrace and is fully fenced and gated to keep your little ones safe, while you relax!

    The house is built on two floors surrounding the rear garden and swimming pool which can be viewed from all the rooms. It features two double bedrooms each with their own en-suite. One of the double bedrooms is located on the ground floor with direct access to the exterior and as the house has level access throughout the ground floor, it is very suitable for groups including members with limited mobility. There is a family bathroom complete with full-size bath and shower on the first floor to serve the other bedrooms. Large dining room with separate kitchen area, and cosy sitting room both with direct access to the covered terrace and pool area. The interior is simple and tastefully modern and all furniture and fittings are only four or five years old.

    Railway: La Roche sur Yon: 25.5 mi
    Ferry: St. Malo: 188.3 mi
    La Tranche is ideally located on the west coast of France, far enough south to enjoy a different climate but close enough to be within reasonable travel distance for families. The nearest channel ferry port is St.Malo at 3.5 hours drive time with Cherbourg, Caen, Roscoff and Le Havre being up to 1.5 hours more. It is also possible to travel from Calais within a day.
    Travel arrangements by a combination of train and bus are quite possible, although some of our guests have preferred to take a taxi for the last stage to La Tranche itself. Bringing a car is not essential as everything is within easy cycling or walking distance. If our bikes do not suit you, others can be hired locally. Cars can also be hired locally for day trips, even from the the local supermarket!

Whilst trying to compile this review, I have been unable to think of anything negative regarding our holiday here.
