We stayed in Chalet #1 in Feb 2012 when the snow conditions were marvelous. The chalet was plenty large enough for a party of 10 adults and teenagers and the additional space in the basement level was a welcome bonus as were the sauna and boot warmer.
This hamlet of chalets is located in the quiet Preyerand area below the main centre of Les Menuires. There is a narrow piste running above and below the hamlet and if there is good snow cover, it is possible to join these pistes and ski down to lifts that then rise to the main centre at Croisette, otherwise use the ski-bus as the walk is too far. We had a vehicle with us so the location was not an issue, some of our party arrived at the main bust station in Les Menuires and it is too far and too difficult to walk with luggage from there, so either the local ski-bus or a taxi (if available) is a must to get to the accommodation. The nearest minimarket is quite a considerable distance away, so bear that in mind if self-catering...
