Smarhus Cottage is a beautifully appointed two bedroom self catering holiday home, graded 4 stars by Visit Scotland. Set in rural West Lothian it provides a tranquil haven after a busy day visiting all the wonderful tourist sites that central Scotland has to offer.
The Cottage offers a spacious living room/ kitchen area, one double and one twin bedroom with good storage space, bathroom/ shower room with walk in shower, utility area providing a washer dryer, iron and ironing board.

A friendly warm welcome from Andrew & Evelyn started a perfect two week holiday for our family of four including two teens, internet access and sky television kept them happy while indoors and Smarhus was close to all our selected activities. the cottage was very well equipped for cooking and laundry and we made use of the BBQ as well.... more

perfect setting, quite peaceful, perfect hosts, everything you need. The weather wasn't too bad for our stay managed not to get wet, dodging showers. The cottage is a perfect base 10 mins by car. from supermarket and train station , for Edinburgh etc. A car is essential for seeing the sights we explored Falkirk, the Kelpies, wheel etc, two days... more

The price is fully inclusive of heating, electricity, bedding and towels. Payment methods include cheque or paypal. A deposit is required to secure your booking with the full balance payable 5 weeks before arrival. The full amount is payable if the booking is made within 5 weeks of arrival.

Entry days are normally Sat - Sat but this can be negotiated depending on availability.

How to get there
Nearest airport is Edinburgh approx 25 min drive. Glasgow airport is approx 45 min drive. Both airports are served by BA, Easyjet, Ryanair, Jet2 etc.
Nearest train service is the new electric line with a 15 min service to Edinburgh or Glasgow, Armadale or Bathgate stations are both within 10 mins drive. Alternate train service is from Linlithgow station which is approx 15 min drive with frequent services to Edinburgh, Glasgow and Stirling with connections to Perth and Inverness.
As the Cottage is in a rural location with an hourly bus service to Bathgate and Falkirk we would recommend visitors have their own transport. Full direction details are provided on our website.
