The Anchorage is a delightful self-catering holiday cottage on the Isle of Skye.

Located on the foreshore of one of the best holiday locations in Scotland, The Anchorage overlooks Loch Alsh and the heather clad mountains of the Scottish Highlands beyond.

The cottage is the perfect all seasons self catering holiday accommodation for seaside-loving, mountain-walking, wildlife-watching, peace-searching people who love wilderness beaches, gastronomic delights and a touch of the Celtic.
The garden has a gate which leads from the right on to the high tide line, from where one can fish or just sit and watch the yachts, naval and fishing boats come and go, including the occasional submarine or cruise liner. Opposite is the lighthouse-keeper's cottage Eilean Bàn where author Gavin Maxwell (Ri...

    Additional amenities & feature info
The house is well equipped and interior designed to our own standards. You'll find pictures of our children on the wall and binoculars and probably some whisky in the cupboards. This is not a house that has been 'done up cheaply to let out' and we find that it attracts people who treat it the affection that we show it ourselves.

We have just spent a wonderful week at the Anchorage & what a gem it is! The cottage is beautiful & homely, & has everything you could possibly need, & is situated right by the water, perfect! The sun room was my favourite place, as the views over to the Skye bridge are amazing, we even saw a couple of... more

Management response:

Hi Jenny - many thanks for your kind words and I'm glad you enjoyed your stay at The Anchorage. The Aga does keep things nice and warm, - not usually too much of an issue on Skye although it is amazing how many people find the weather to be much better than expected! We usually promise rainbows! Regards, Richard. more

We are back in London after a wonderful week in Skye and missing those views already. The Anchorage is a well loved family home which is very comfortable and welcoming. The owner is most helpful with advice and tips about the island and the journey to Skye. Our favourite place to sit in the evenings was the sunny room with... more

This was our first visit to the Isle of Syke and The Anchorage was the perfect place to stay. The cottage is more than just a 'holiday cottage' its a family home with all the comfort that you would expect. The kitchen is always lovely and warm thanks to the Aga which was great to cook on. The wood burner... more
