    Rental Home –
    3 Bedrooms, 1 Bathroom, Sleeps 6
Originally built in the 1860s for the coastguards to watch the bay for smugglers, this cottage for 6 is midway along the south facing terrace on Cliff Road in Gorran Haven, just above the wonderful beaches. Cliff Road is part of the coastal path. The cottage has views (from every bedroom, the living room and the terrace) over the quiet harbour and the National Trust hillside. It's just a three minute walk to the beach and village shops. It has been attractively refurbished and is very comfortable.

Early birds can watch beautiful sunrises over the sea- from the house, the terrace;even from your bed!

    How to get there
From the A390 in St. Austell (the main Truro-Liskeard road) take the B3273 to Mevagissey (at the B&Q/McDonald’s roundabout). Go through the villages of London Apprentice and Pentewan. At Pentewan the B3273 climbs a long winding hill overlooking the sea on the left. Prepare to turn right as you'll soon get to the cross-roads at the apex of the hill, following signs to the Lost Gardens of Heligan and Gorran Haven.

(If you have a Sat Nav it will probably suggest you take the alternative route through Mevagissey however this is not recommended in the summer as there are often lengthy traffic queues in the narrow streets).

Assuming you turn right, then you will pass Heligan Gardens after crossing a narrow bridge and negotiating, then down a dip and around another sharpish left hand...

With much of the UK troubled by storms and flooding this month we considered cancelling our week away to Cornwall, but are so glad we didn't. The cottage was so welcoming, and most mornings the sky was so blue that we were hard pushed to believe we were in the same country! The cottage was really well presented, with comfy... more

I loved the cosy cottage feel, downstairs has a well equipped kitchen/ dining area and a lovely sitting room. I really enjoyed the terrace for meals and of course my early morning dip in the sea. It is only a stone's throw away from the house. The bedrooms are immaculately clean and the top floor has a stunning view of... more

An ideally positioned former coastguard dwelling with a welcoming homely feel, and well equipped. Gardens to front and rear, allowing you to relax and eat outside whatever the wind and wherever the sun. Private car parking space - a real bonus in Gorran Haven. Access to delightful cliff-top walks, and several great places within a few miles, notably the Lost... more
