We have been going to Sutton Hall for some years and the property is situated in a beautiful location of Sutton Under Whitestonecliffe. The grounds and apartment are beautifully kept and ideally situated on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors, where you have various attractions within easy reach, i.e. National Trust properties, English Heritage, Horse Racing at Thirsk and York, beautiful walks and interesting countryside, along with easy access to the east coast. We went to Scarborough, Whitby Bay, both of which have interesting monuments to visit along with plenty of eating establishments and beach walks. We also visited Robins Hood Bay which is extremely quaint but not for those with walking problems as there are some very steep slopes!
A short drive brings you up the famous Sutton Bank (not suitable for caravans). At the top there is a Gliding Club and a beautiful cafe and tourist office, which is strongly recommended. There is of course the market towns of Thirsk... more
