We booked Hardingill Cottage as a last minute short break. Deciding factor for booking was the location (we were particularly looking to be close to Wasdale), but on arrival we realised how lucky we were!
The cottage is quaint and quirky, the accommodation is spread over four levels, including a lovely cosy teenagers "snug" downstairs, and is finished to a high standard throughout. The woodburning stove made the cottage toasty warm (there is also excellent central heating!) even on chilly February nights.
The cottage is used partly as a holiday let, and partly as the owner's own second home, and this is reflected in the personal touches found throughout.
We had a super break, Gosforth is a great base for exploring the western Lakes and coast, and Hardingill Cottage is a lovely place to stay. more
