The Orchards Apartment occupies the ground floor of the main house, with the twin bedroom situated on the first floor. Central heating and hot water is by means of an oil boiler. The property benefits from having an electric fire in the lounge area. Damp items may be dried in a shared boiler house that also houses a tumble drier. The owners are in residence in the top two floors of the main house. Mobile phone users on 'Orange' can get a very good signal & we now have Freeview to enjoy (via SKY)

The accommodation has a spacious feel with large rooms. Good storage space with lots of space for outdoor gear, boots, etc. Everything but the twin bedroom is at ground floor level. Great place to stay in beautiful surroundings. Very friendly welcoming owners who live on site after making sure you have everything you need leave you to get on with your stay. The apartments are equiped with everything you need for a small family self catering stay, fridge freezer, washing machine and best of all for getting your walking shoes dry... more

We had great time at the orchards! The apartment is very spacious, and well decorated. The kitchen is equipped with all appliances, and we even had milk in the fridge. It was very nice! The blooming garden is beautiful and the area is very peaceful. more

we stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment for 5 days which was spacious warm and very clean. It is set in lovely grounds with amazing views over the valley. Our normal change over days are Friday for a full week or 3 night weekend break and Monday for a 3 or 4 night mid-week break.

We will try to work around these change over days to suit your requirements wherever possible. Please get in touch if you have any questions or would like to discuss your own particular requirements.

Guests staying for 2 weeks continuously can get a £40 discount if they choose, on the basis that no cleaning will be done after the first weeks holiday. Dogs are charged extra at £15/week or £10/short break.

Leave junction 36 of the M6 motorway and head for Kendal/Lakes. Follow Barrow signs (A590). Three miles beyond Newby Bridge turn right (signed to Workington). After 10 miles you will reach Broughton-in-Furness. 3/4 of a mile beyond, turn right to Ulpha - just before the traffic lights that control traffic over the river Duddon Bridge. After 4 miles, turn left in Ulpha village, up the steep hill signed for Eskdale (Birker fell road). Follow this road for 7 miles and you will enter Eskdale Green village. Just past the village store on the right, turn left down a private lane called 'Randlehow'. The Orchards is 250 yards on the left.
