Ormondroyd is an excellent cottage on the Irton Hall estate. Lovely views from patio door balcony and free Wi-Fi very useful. Temperamental Sky Freeview reception and slightly leaky shower apart the cottage is very good and well worth the money. Food and drink at the Irton Hall bar literally 2 minutes walk away are very good and lots of excellent walks and local pubs in the area. Wastwater is gorgeous and the drive over the Hardknott and Wrynose pass is a must do for any confident driver.
We would definitely recommend and with a few minor tweaks the cottage/venue would rate a 5 star.

I could not fault anything about my stay, it had a few bits of nothing , like the bathroom blind didnt work, light out in kitchen but this didnt matter one bit, we all felt very rested here, even asked if we could stay another night, which we did, all staff very helpful, Steve himself, lovely bloke, so was Tom on desk.We also ate in the hall, food good, and we had a breakfast one morning, just so cosy and relaxing.
There are numerous places to eat around the area and a cute little place called Woodland Tea Rooms, Wastwater is also not far away.Hardknott Pass is quite dramatic and very steep in places when going across by car.
Would like to return to the Hall in the future, it also had free Wi- fi
And lastly the dogs loved it.
