    At The Chalets you will find four Self-catering cottages, close to the village of Boot. Each chalet is spacious and beautifully furnished. Set in large, mature riverside gardens on the banks of the river Esk. The Chalets have been awarded 4 stars by the English Tourist Board for self-catering accommodation in The Lake District. Three cottages are able to sleep four and one is able to sleep five, all have double-glazing and central heating. One chalet is able to accommodate a very well behaved house trained dog.

    Follow the A591 towards Kendal;

    Before you reach Kendal turn onto the A590 towards Barrow-in-Furness;

    Follow the road through Newby Bridge and on towards Ulverston;

    Turn off before Ulverston on to the A5092 to Broughton in Furness;

    At Broughton stay on the main road until you see Duddon Bridge, just before the traffic lights at this bridge, turn right into Ulpha valley.

    Once through Ulpha village turn left up onto Birker Fell, follow this fell road up and over into Eskdale. At the George iv Pub turn right towards Boot. You will find us about a mile down this road on the right, opposite Beckfoot Halt train station.

Just returned from a 3 night stay at The Chalets which are absolutely brilliant for a short break. I travelled with 4 friends who I go away walking in the Lake District with once a year. We normally stay in Yurts, but decided this year we wanted something a bit more comfortable as the weather was atrocious last year. We were NOT disappointed. There is everything you need, kitchen with all the items you need, biscuits, coffee, sugar, etc, living area with TV, DVD player, magazines, family games, bathroom with complimentary toiletries, constant hot water, central heating for those cool nights, very comfortable beds. There is a drying room for all your wet gear, which is separate from your accommodation so its not hanging around your Chalet. Beautiful, well kept gardens to relax in & a barbecue area. You dont even need to take your food with you as Tesco & Asda both deliver there. They are within walking distance of a local pub, shop & some lovely local walks. We stayed... more
