Gillbank cottage is perfectly situated for a fell-walking holiday - there is easily a week's worth of stunning walks all around Eskdale straight from the door. Stayed at Gillbank Cottage with friends and kids and we all had a lovely time. The village of Boot is lovely and we were made up with the cottage and its setting. The Lindsay room boasts two single beds with Lindsay tartan throws and matching cushions. There is also a chest of drawers and large double wardrobe.

Duckegg Bedroom

Leave the M6 motorway at junction 36 for Kendal/Lakes.
Follow signs to Barrow (A590).
Turn right to Workington (A5092) 3 miles beyond Newby Bridge and follow this road to Broughton-in-Furness (10 miles).
Turn right to Ulpha before the River Duddon (3/4 mile beyond Broughton).
After 4 miles turn left in Ulpha village to the steep hill signed Eskdale.
Follow the fell road to the King George IV pub (6 miles).
Turn right.
At the Brook House (Poachers Bar) turn left into Boot village. Pass the Boot Inn on your left and immediately after the red phone box turn right into the lane before the small bridge.
The road is labelled as private.
