We couldn't have been happier with our stay at The Alpaca Barnhaus. Mickey and Evelyn were gracious hosts and were very kind about introducing our children to their alpacas and two Anatolian shepards. The rental unit itself is very clean and cozy. It is well stocked with all necessary cookware, books, games and an abundance of information about this fascinating part of the country. We hope to get back soon. more

5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 13, 2013 for a stay in September 2013

The property is very well kept and clean. A nice, secluded area in a developed area of the Jemez wilderness. Jemez is a large, beautiful area with lots of hiking, fishing and exploring to be done. Dirt roads to the house are in good condition and would only require a four wheel drive in inclement weather. Home is well furnished and comfortable. Only one caution. The beds are "full" size. This was fine for us but large/very tall folks might have an issue. Would definitely like to go back and stay longer next time. This would especiall be cozy during a nice snowfall, with the wood stove in the main room. The owners are really friendly and easy to get along with. more

Management response:

Your caution about the full-sized beds has been noted and resolved. In the larger bedroom we now have a queen-sized bed! We look forward to your return visit. You can... more
