A beautiful campsite on the river Lot with about 750m of frontage directly on the river. We stayed in one of the newly renovated 'Gites', which was really fresh and clean and with a great view of the river from the decking. A barbeque and furniture on the decking makes it a great place to spend the evening sipping the local 'Cahor' wine whilst watching the sun go down.
I've stayed at the site a few times now, the peace and quiet, coupled with the enthusiasm of the owners, Peter and Femke makes this a wonderful place to stay. We've already booked up for another 2 weeks in July, that's how good it is.
There are plenty of sites to see locally and a few nice markets to visit as well. Leclerc is just down the road for your major shopping, but you don't have to go to the bakers if you don't want to, as they deliver every day to the campsite during the high season.
I would also recommend a visit to 'Pech Merle' to see the cave paintings, it is really awe inspiring. more
