Built in 1832 as a one-room schoolhouse – a function it served until 1950 -- this charming and historic building has been given new life as a vacation getaway. The first floor classroom has the original blackboards and antique school furniture, while the tall windows offer wonderful light and views of horses, cows and mountains. Upstairs is a very large, but cozy space for sleeping and relaxing. There is a queen sized poster bed and a twin bed, plus 2 floor mattresses for kids. The kitchen is small but fully equipped and there is dining table for 4...

The school house vacation at the Berkshires was a special experience! Cheryl and Rich were warm hosts and really made us feel right at home. The actual school room has fabulous knick knacks to look at, and our daughter loved playing school with all the desks and blackboard. The grounds are lovely and they have a pretty area right outside... more
