Nice older house, spacious, modern kitchen, huge front wraparound porch, rear deck off the kitchen, sleeps eight.
Easy walk to town center, close to Casco Bay, pleasant tree lined roads.
On the minus side, guests are not allowed to use the house's fireplace, or even light a candle; the house lacks the artwork and local seashore memorabilia common to many Peaks Island houses we have rented in the past. the layout of some rooms seemed a trifle odd (dining room and kitchen). Bathtubs were a little hard to climb into and out of. Kind of dangerous (no grab bars). The gas grill in back yard had an empty tank the day we arrived. We didn't use it and did not pay to have it filled for the next guests.
Although we don't go to Maine to watch TV, having a set and maybe a DVD player might have been a good idea for guests with kids. more
