We had a lovely time here last summer with my wife and kids. It's a proper little cottage right in the middle of France. There are loads of places to visit locally, providing you dont mind doing some driving especially some lovely little villages. There's a pottery village nearby and a small supermarket only 5 mins drive down the road.
There were lots of fairs and brocantes on when we were there. Bourges a Mediaeval city is definitely worth a visit. It's about 45 mins away by car but theres loads there including a light show which you have to see.
The cottage was lovely and there a garden to sit and soak up the sun (it was a bit hot when we were there) and a pool which the kids loved. The only thing is everywhere is quite spread out, theres nothing within walking distance. There If you want to get away from it all I would recommend it.
