By the morning of our stay, my wife and I had forgotten our busy lives and had circled back around to the good lives we have, just as the island facing this property in full view rounds itself in the water. After having spent two noisy and full days in New Haven doing research at Yale, we welcomed the clear and calm environment of Thimble Island Bed and Breakfast.
This is the best bed and breakfast we have stayed at. The taste of the owners is exquisite -- clear, open, interesting, fanciful, and also at times minimal. The place is immaculate and the tone of the owners and of the place is livable -a hard combination to keep. The owners are friendly without being intrusive and are also flexible with scheduling, interested in making the best stay for their guests that they can manage given their own interesting lives.
It is hard to imagine a more ideal location for a home and a finer house to live in. My wife described the place as a "little piece of...
