Additional Location Information
Whether you are nature lovers, mountain bikers, or want a quiet personal or romantic retreat, our place is ideal. Walking, hiking, and biking trails abound right from the property into acres of Big River State Park and Jackson State Forest. Our beautiful cottage is tucked into a magnificent redwood forest in the sun belt above Big River, a seven minute drive from Mendocino village. The designated parking space is a two minute walk to the cottage on lighted forest paths.

Historic Mendocino village has art galleries; fine shopping and dining; an independent bookstore; live theatre; musical events; fanciful holiday festivities; State Parks; ocean headlands and beaches; and bike, canoe, and kayak rentals. Take classes year round at the Mendocino Art Center. The Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens is 10 minutes north for your walking pleasure. The Mendocino Music Festival graces the headlands and fills the town with music in mid-July.

Fort Bragg is twelve minutes north with interesting shops; a logging museum; the historic Skunk Train; art galleries; good restaurants; and the Noyo Harbor fishing port with canoe and kayak rentals.
