We came to Bansko for the first time, just to have easy short trip from Kazakhstan where we live now. We have been to the main ski destinations in Europe from our original home in the Netherlands, so we were a bit sceptic about Bulgaria (sorry for that). And as the result we loved it a lot! Not too much luck with the snow this year, we have skied only a few days from our five, but still it was enough of it on the pistes. They refresh it regular. The town itself is very pleasant, absolutely alive, more like in Austria. A lot of restaurants, shops, market etc. Local people are very friendly. After the first walk through the streets restaurant barkers recognize and greet you. It is pleasant, you feel very welcome. And no pushiness that's also very relaxing. The prices are low if to compare with traditional ski places.
Belvedere Resort has a great location. 7 min from gondola lift, 10-15 min to the town centre, 3 min to big supermarket and mall. Very nice, clean, relaxed hotel... more
