This was a comfortable, quiet, clean and calm place for an Iron Dog racer to rest up for his big 2,000 mile snowmobile adventure. The starting line was directly in front of the house, with lots of big windows on every floor and every room to watch the starting line unfold, we even enjoyed a fireworks display from the lake from our living room the night before the race. On a clear day we had a pristine view of Mt. McKinley. We were about a 15 minute drive to Wasila with plenty of good shopping. And, Wasilla is were Sarah Palin lives and her husband, Todd, has been racing the Iron Dog for years, Sarah was at the starting line with some of her family.
