Fifteen minutes from the airport. Only a two minute walk to South Congress, and many Austin landmarks including The Continental Club, Guero's, Jo's Coffee Shop, Vespaio, Woodland Cafe, Perla, Hopdoddy's, Amy's Ice Cream, the list goes on and on. Walk the other direction to South 1st (less than a minute) to Bouldin Creek Coffeehouse, Torchy's Trailer Park, Elizabeth St. Cafe, Freddie's, Place, Thai Fresh ... You could stay here a month, walk less than 8 minutes, have great food, and not eat at the same place twice. Not to mention the many cute shops, boutiques, and awesome vintage clothing stores.

Downtown, Auditorium Shores, The Ladybird Lake hike and bike trail, the bats, and the Convention Center (about 2/3 of a mile) are easy to get to by foot (10-15 min.), bike (8 min), bus (5 min), or short pedi-cab ride. I-35 three minutes (F-1 route) by car. 5 minute walk to grocery store.
