I stayed at anita's for a month long visit to Quito. The rental unit is attached to anita's house but is independent with its own entrance. The house itself is in a central location on the west side of the new town about a 15 minute walk to Parque Carolina and perhaps a few minutes more than that to the Mariscal. It was a great location for my purposes. The house is in a decent, though decidedly not upscale, neighborhood with easy access to public transport. There is street noise, but if you don't want to be living on the tenth or fifteenth floor of a high rise, the sound of traffic is pretty much unavoidable in Quito. The traffic dies down during the evening hours and picks up again at the start of the work day.
The house is nicely laid out with a comfortable living room, has a separate office space with computer, one bedroom with queen size bed, and decent size kitchen and bath. There are large windows that let in a lot of natural light, though the house doesn't face south... more
