We were a little nervous as we had not stayed in a vacation rental before. We wanted a place close to the metro in a safe neighborhood with gated offstreet parking. BINGO! Plus we didn't have to sell spare organs to pay for it.

Some unexpected perks include proximity to a grocery store (about a block) and a Target (about 2.5 blocks).

Some expected perks - privacy. We couldn't hear any neighbors, and we know they had children with them, so A+ for noise control. Also we did laundry while there. There were 2 washers and 2 dryers. We didn't need to wait at all. Parking was easy peasy.

Some cons included the lack of an elevator. This was not a deal breaker for me, but then my fantastic husband didn't make me haul our luggage up 3 flights of steps. Our airconditioner didn't work well, but the nights were cool enough to not really need it. I suspect if we had called to report the problem, it would have been fixed promptly.

Thanks for the...

This studio apt was very comfortable and had everything we needed. Having a place with a kitchen meant we could eat out because we wanted to, not because we had to. It's close to grociery and loads of other shopping. It's close to the metro, so hauling suitcases wasn't a problem. It was great to know that we could come 'home' to a comfortable place each night after touring the city. We were even able to do our laundry without a hitch. Jarek, Elizabeth & Kuba were all very helpful and responsive.
I'd absolutely recommend it.

This was our first time using a vacation rental and we were a bit apprehensive because of what we had been reading about this sketchiness of this location and the idea of renting sight unseen. However we had a wonderful experience. The original apt I had requested was not available but the owner rented out an apt that was not yet listed.
Pros: gated parking- we parked our car for the week and used transit the whole time; location: close to a grocery store, mall, restaurants, farmers market, great self serve frozen yogurt place and transit station (3 blocks away) and 15 minute ride to downtown core and sites; studio apt was spacious; price: was reasonable compared to what we would have paid for a hotel room; owners were very good to communicate with and answered all questions promptly. Cannot think of any cons for this place/building and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again!
