    Rental Home –
    2 Bedrooms, 1 Bathroom, Sleeps 4
'Le Noyer' is a charming old stone cottage, named after the magnificent walnut tree which provides welcome shade in the summer. Completely renovated over recent years, it offers a perfect base for those who enjoy the peace and quiet of this beautiful area of the 'Périgord Noir'. The accommodation comprises a double bedroom and a twin, a shower room and a sitting room/kitchen/dining room with log-burning stove. Arranged on a single story, it is characterful and comfortable, rather than luxurious. Glazed doors open onto a shaded veranda with lovely countryside views, from which a stone staircase descends to the grounds of around half an acre. This is a haven for wildlife - deer and woodpeckers, red squirrels, butterflies and wild flowers.

    Additional amenities & feature info
The thick stone walls keep the inside of 'Le Noyer' pleasantly cool in summer and warm in winter. There is electric heating in all rooms, however, should you need it. All windows have shutters, as do the three glazed doors - two in the sitting room ('séjour'), one in the double bedroom. The house is bright and airy, but cosy, and has several nice examples of local antique furniture. We have aimed to keep things simple and in character, so there is no microwave, dishwasher, television or internet. What there is, however, is more than adequate - a built in fridge/freezer, a sink (with tea-towels provided), a built in electric oven (which can toast if necessary) with gas hob, a washing machine in one of the cellars ('caves') and charm in abundance. The views from the s... more

We spend our christmasweek in le Noyer and we enjoyed it very much. The house is very comfortable and the fireplace verry cozy.. The surrounding is beautiful.. When you do not like silence then you better not go there, because it is ever so quiet and we love that so much. In one word, as we say above.......Fantastic. . more

My fiancé and I had a truly lovely time at 'Le Noyer.' We went to markets, swam, cooked, walked, slept. It was wonderful. more

This trip was our first holiday in France. We had great expectations to see a simple French countryside and local life as much as possible. Funny, but being tourists we wished avoid as much tourists as possible. The staying in Le Noyer proved to be just perfect base camp for all of it. This small village and the others around...
