    San Andrea di Compito is a village 11km from the historic town of Lucca. The cottage is attached to a large villa, but is completely private. San Andrea and its sister village Pieve di Compito are popular vacation destinations as they are the sites for the annual Camilia Festival.

    The villa gardens are open to the cottage visitors.

    Airport: Pisa: 24.9 mi
    Railway: Lucca: 6.2 mi
    The property is approximately 1 hour from either Florence or Pisa airports. Both have all the major car hire companies and there are several budget airlines serving each airport. While GPS navigation in the rental car is convenient, we will supply detailed directions on receiving the reservation. It is an easy drive to the home.

My husband, brother, and sister in law stayed at Il Rufigio for four nights. It is a lovely home off the beaten path but very close to anything we needed or wanted to see in Tuscany. We stayed in the rooms within the main home (not the separate apartment) and they were lovely and a cool refuge from the July... more

This charming and beautiful old cottage was filled with nice amenities. It had a small kitchen with cooking supplies, a TV and an updated bathroom. This one bedroom loft is set in the hills of Tuscany with amazing views all around including your own private patio filled with flowers. Having just spent a week in the Aldo apartment at Il Rifugio we can only endorse what others have said and are already looking forward to a return visit. The property is typically rustic Italian but with so many great "extras"provided. Great bed , large shower and basic supplies in the fridge when we arrived etc.etc.. Tuscany and our little village in particular seem to bring out the best in our visitors. There's so much to see and do, if they want...or just relax and chill out for a few days.
