The cottage itself is absolutely lovely, romantically secluded and very comfortable. The general location is also great - Sneem itself has a lot to offer and is a great place to explore the surrounding area from. This includes some of the most beautiful scenery Ireland has to offer: the Ring of Kerry, on which Sneem itself lies, the Beara Peninsula to the south and the Dingle peninsula to the north. In this regard it should be hard to beat, so we only have some very minor misgivings: Unfortunately there is no longer any direct, "private" sea access, as the previous owner has developed and fenced in the intervening property - you now have to walk around to the pier (just under 10 min). Also, I can't recommend walking or cycling the direct way to Sneem from the cottage as there is substantial traffic on the narrow main road, which has lots of hidden bends and twists, but there might be another, somewhat longer way if you cross the road coming from the cottage, but we never... more
