The Old Bakery sits in the grounds of Town End Farm on the edge of the ancient village of Crowcombe in the heart of the Quantock Hills, the first area in Britain designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There is a footpath directly opposite the entrance which leads right up to the top of the hills and across the surrounding countryside which has changed very little from the days when it inspired the romantic poets Coleridge and Wordsworth.

Just a few minutes walk will take you into the heart of the village, where you will find the village church, shop with Post Office and also the excellent pub, The Carew Arms.

The Old Bakery is perfect for the traditional summer holiday or for short breaks any time of the year.

We keep a small selection of outdoor play equipment for young children. Transportation for the setting down and...

We had a long weekend at Town End Farm, the weather was iffy but it didn't matter. The accommodation was just what we wanted, cosy, comfortable and immaculately clean. Lovely village, walks and surrounding countryside, not forgetting the gorgeous scones, thank you Bruce and Jackie more

So many lovely touches, from the cream tea on arrival to the "emergency" box of toiletries. Property: A beautiful two-bedroomed cottage. Warm and cosy with a... more

5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 6, 2013 for a stay in April 2013

My husband and I spent a week in the Old Bakery in April 2013. Crowcombe is a beautiful village and surrounded by even more beautiful hills. Bruce is the perfect host (scones and clotted cream upon arrival!) and pretty much every aspect of our stay exceeded our expectations. We will be back. more
