We spent a week in Cassis, and wished we had booked for longer. We were welcomed by the owner, shown to our parking space, and given plenty of information.
This 2nd floor apartment is comfortable and well-equipped, and wonderfully situated. A marvellous view from the front balconies - a delightful place for a sunny breakfast or supper watching the sunset over the castle and the bay.
A five-minute walk takes you to the seafront, with its many bars and restaurants, and two beaches (one sandy, one pebbly). The swimming was lovely, as long as you are confident enough to get in through the small rollers. In October there are few beach ‘extras' available (such as sun- loungers) and therefore no extra charges.
Everything is within walking distance: the museum, church, the boulangerie, the casino, and enough restaurants to last you at least a fortnight.
We used our car only for out of town excursions: Aix en Provence, various Roman sites, the vineyards and the wonderful Route... more
