    Condo/Apartment –
    2 Bedrooms, 1 Bathroom, Sleeps 4
Apartment Bonheur is situated in a narrow, picturesque cobbled street that in a previous century would have been the commercial centre of Ceret. Today, the Rue du Commerce is largely residential, with just a smattering of small enterprises, such as a games/hunting shop, an accessories shop, a library, an antique shop and an art gallery to remind you of its past role in the life of the town.

Butchers/deli shops, patisseries, newsagents and grocers are all within easy walking distance. You'll find any excuse you can to wander through the streets of this delightful town with its stately plane trees and its vibrant, but laid-back, combination of French and Catalan culture.

Ceret is an ideal base from which to discover this unspoilt part of the Mediterranean, offering a dramatic Pyrenean...

Apartment Bonheur is located on the first floor, up one flight of stairs. With its thick walls and its proximity to adjacent buildings, the apartment remains comfortably cool and pleasant throughout much of the summer (bar the hottest part, for which fans are provided). All the main rooms look out on to the cobbled street, with the decorative Juliet balconies providing a good view of the marvellous Porte de France archway straddling the street at one end.

Inside, the apartment is attractively furnished, with a harmonious blend of antique and modern styles. There is a large bedroom and a smaller one, both with a double bed. The lounge is comfortable and spacious, and comes equipped with a small hi-fi system and UK Freesat TV (including a DVD player). The dining table and chairs are in a &#...

    Airport: Perpignan: 21.7 mi
Railway: Perpignan (TGV - fast train): 18.6 mi
Choices of travel can be by Ryanair flight to either Perpignan (France) or Girona (Spain). Alternatively, you might like to consider travelling by train to Perpignan, from St Pancras station in London.

There are daily Ryanair flights from the UK to both Perpignan and Girona:
    - 30 minutes' drive from Perpignan airport to the apartment
    - Less than 90 minute's drive from Girona airport (near Barcelona)
Although Perpignan is closer to Ceret, flying to Girona may offer certain advantages, such as more flights per day and possibly cheaper fares at some of those times (certainly as far as London departures are concerned). All the major car-hire companies are represented at both airports.

You can also travel to Perpignan by high-speed train, taking the Eurostar from London and connectin...

5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2013 for a stay in July 2013

I stayed here with my wife and 22 year old daughter and thoroughly enjoyed the week long holiday. The apartment is will equipped and is so close to the main town. There is an abundance of bars/restaurants and a wonderful atmosphere. We arrived there during festival season and there was music and dancing in the streets, though all noise seemed... more

5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2013 for a stay in September 2011

Stayed here in September 2011, as a base for 2 weeks cycling. Couldn't have picked a better place. After 6+ hours out on the roads, which were generally anything but flat, the apartment was a welcome 'home' to return to. Well appointed and comfortable - ideal to relax in before another day in the saddle. I hope to return. Soon.

An ideally situated and well equipped apartment, in a relatively quiet side street, yet close to all of your hearts desires: cafés, restaurants, street-markets, open-air concerts, modern art museum, ... I could go on. There's free parking just around the corner from the apartment. The surrounding area is a cultural gold mine and, for just hanging out, the beach is... more
