Saint-Germain-en-Laye is a great location to avoid the chaos caused by heavy traffic in the heart of Paris, just 30 minutes away. Especially if your planned visits in Paris include farther attractions like Palais de Versailles, chateaux in the region of Loire (like Chambord, Chenonceau... among 300 other chateaux), and the maison of Monet, etc. It makes Saint-Germain-en-Laye a strategical central location of your stay just outside Paris. But if you just want to experience Paris, it may not be your best choice. Restaurants, superstores, markets and attractions are found easily in the neighbourhood.
With it's 350-year history, the Hotel de Noailles added much romantic touch of the very tasteful and luxurious French culture and aesthetics to our one-week stay in France. With this accommodation we were able to merge into a more French daily life than being mere passers-by of the adorable city.
