We booked this villa to accommodate 2 familys - 9 of us in total. We loved our week in Tuscany and it was the perfect base for all that we wanted to see in and around the Chianti region. The views were amazing and we spent the evenings sipping wine by the fire on the large verander. The house was very clean, spacious, well furnished and very well equiped with lots of platters, glasses, plates etc. The cleaner came 3 times during our stay to tidy up and clean the floors. We were reallocated to this wonderful place at very short notice by 'To Tuscany' when the place we had booked had a small fire...divine intervention?

This was the most magnificent place we have ever stayed: not plush or OTT, but comfortable, secluded, posh-rustic and utterly, utterly beautiful. The view from the terrace (complete with the comfiest wicker sofas and outdoor fire place) was the one I want to die to: on the last night we just stayed up all together and slept out there! The pool is lovely, there is a fully functioning sauna in the garden and a redoubtable lady (known as 'Rina the Cleaner from Castellina' in a now-legendary family song) comes in to clean three times per week.

The owner (German) lives nearby and works in the town; he likes to pop round to say hello and was very helpful when one of the kids was ill. Took trips to Siena, San Ginimgnano and Florence, but most of all just loved being in this little slice of heaven.

Remarkably and...
