This apartment was a revelation. The kitchen had virtually every appliance and utensil imaginable (could have done with a pint glass!). It is furnished to a high standard, with a spacious living room and outer conservatory. The patio is enormous with a barbecue which was in constant use. This strength could be a weakness to some visitors as there is only one (big) bed and so an apartment big enough to house 8 can only sleep 2. Our only gripe was the lack of air conditioning, or even a fan. The evenings were oppressively hot and it was difficult to get a good night's sleep at times, hence 4 stars, not five. However, for €350 for 11 nights, you could not possibly ask for more. 5 minutes from the famous Forum Shopping centre and countless buses to transport you into Funchal, Ajuda Mar can only be highly recommended.
