During our week's stay we visited quite a few other beaches east and west of Albufeira, but the beach at San Rafael was definitely the best, and in such easy reach of our accommodation too! A five minute amble is all it took to get there. We were out of season but can imagine that the car park at the beach would be packed in the summer, so this easy access is a real advantage.
The apartment is tastefully furnished with a living room leading to a sheltered balcony from which the sea can be seen. The balcony is not overlooked by any other building. The kitchen and bathroom are both tiled in traditional Portuguese tiles which add charm and character to the place. The bathroom is spacious, and the shower (over the bath) is easy to use, with hot water supplied from a boiler in the kitchen that worked efficiently.
