When they say 2nd floor - NO!!! it's on the FOURTH FLOOR (to American's). To Europeans who consider the first floor to be the ground floor, it's still 3rd. Counting the vertical windows, there are FOUR - you are on the TOP of the building! There are 55 narrow steps (your foot won't fully fit on a step) to this apartment. There is one slightly wider step/landing at what would be about the second floor and a larger landing at the third floor (where the door to #1 is located) so you do have a couple places to stop and rest.
The huge picture windows in the kitchen area have no window coverings at all - letting all of the world see in and see what's for dinner. The oven/microwave oven didn't work, though it looked to be brand new. We found a drawer of brand new equipment owners manuals, but even that didn't help - we just could not get it working at all - and 3 people had a go at it.
