I have stayed at Villa Rosa on many occasions at different times of the year and have enjoyed it each time.
The house is immaculately presented and in wonderful gardens with both kept in top condition by a good support team. The facilities are all you could need for a stay and the views and local wildlife are amazing. There is a relaxing, tranquil and welcoming atmosphere in the house itself and the entire area, which forms part of a conservation area on the opposite side of the hill to Cortona.
It is easy to reach Cortona itself (5mins drive, 15mins brisk walk) if you are looking for bars, restaurants or nightlife. Arezzo, Florence, Siena, Assisi and Perugia are all easily driveable and there is a good train service south towards Rome or north towards Florence - the station is also only 15 mins drive away. Other hilltop towns including Montepulciano and Montalcino are around 30mins away in the heart of the Tuscan wine region. Food and wine, as you would expect, are... more
