    Additional Location Information
Monti is the name of one of the most ancient area of Rome. The name literally means mountains in Italian and comes from the fact that the Esquiline and the Viminal Hills, and parts of the Quirinal and the Caelian Hills belonged to this rione. The district is very large and very urbanistically composite, ranging from areas of intensive urbanization (such as that between the Interior and the Quirinal, with an axis of Via Nazionale, and all the buildings in Via Cavour) and the most recent areas as those between the Esquiline and Celio, on Via Amba Aradam).
Particularly appreciated from this point of view, and increasingly popular in recent years, is the area between Via Nazionale and Via Cavour (Via del Boschetto, Via dei Serpenti, Via Baccina and Via Panisperna ),the modesty of dwelling houses , the narrow streets, artisan shops, small shops seem to retain the characteristics of nineteenth-century Rome. We were met by Eleanora who explained everything beautifully, from apartment essentials to information on getting around the city. The apartment is compact but has everything you need for a short stay, perfect for 2. Only one small criticism is that there is no window to give natural light. Lovely bars & restaurants just outside the door. Very close to... more

5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2014 for a stay in July 2014

Right from our first contact with Marida I knew we would be well looked after, and we were. She arranged for us to be picked up at the airport by taxi which dropped us right at the door where we were met by Eleanora. The apartment was small, but big enough for the two of us, decorated nicely and had... more

Location was fantastic. Super close to great restaurants (recommend Sciue Sciue on via Urbana) and the Metro. Colosseum and Forum are walking distance. Apartment was very cute and had everything in it. Bathroom was big. Everything very clean. Marida was super helpful and always quick to respond to any question. Unfortunately there was no window to the street, so the... more
