THE ORIGIN OF MONTI DISTRICT FROM ROMAN TIMES
In Roman times the area was densely populated: the upper part of the district (the Baths of Diocletian to Suburra) had a domus and noble named Vicus Patricius (Via Urbana today), while in the low and swampy - the slums, in fact - were living the plebeians, and the area was full of brothels and taverns of ill repute [3]. Further down in the valley between the Palatine and the Capitol, were the imperial forums.

We had such a great time in Rome. The apartment is centrally located to all the major sights and makes navigating Rome so much nicer then staying on the outskirts. Silvia was very friendly and accommodating. more
