The bay of Villefranche is a deep water natural harbour which is steeped in history and charm, with the old town at the waters edge, resturants & cafes lining the quai & overlooked by a 13th century fortress. This is where Lord Nelson stayed to repair his ships & pirates used to shelter. The bay has serveral beaches & coastal walks of great interest.
The port & old town of Nice is also within 5 minutes and is in its self of great interest with its Italian history, good resturants & plenty of shopping.
Not to forget Cap Ferrat, Beaulieu & of course Monte Carlo, just a short drive along the spectacular Moyen & Base Corniches in the direction of Italy.
