Les Ondes is a fantastic property, about a 15 walk from town down a very quiet road. It therefore has the benefits of being within easy reach of shops, restaurants and markets, but is in a rural location.
The house itself is not traditional in design, being more 1970s/1980s, but it's well proportioned, clean and modern. Absolutely fine, in other words. But it's the outside where it excels...
It has large and very private grounds, much of which appears to be managed for wildlife, with lots of areas left wild with log piles for insects, a woodland area at the bottom of the garden leading to the banks of the river Aveyron (where you can sit and watch the kayakers and kingfishers). For those with an interest in nature, there is a lot going on. There are plenty of small lizards dashing about the garden, and as well as many of the common birds you'd expect to see in England, we saw short toed eagles, little egrets, lots of green woodpeckers and jays.
