We have just returned home after spending a really enjoyable week in the Old Fisherman's Cottage, Puy L'Eveque. The house is on 3 floors with lots of character - exposed beams, stone walls, stone, wood & tiled floors, & narrow staircases. There is an outside area with table & chairs at the front of the house that is perfect for sitting outside eating lunch bought at local markets & looking down the lane to the river.
The shower room/toilet is small but clean & makes the best use of the limited space! Good shower with plenty hot water.
Puy L'Eveque itself is a pretty little town with winding lanes, a small market on Tuesdays & enough local shops to cover the daily basics (the bakers just up from the bridge is excellent & less than 5 mins walk from house). Prayssac, only 5 mins away by car, has more shops & a really good market on a Friday.
I would recommend having a car as there is a lot of exploring that can be done. Cahors... more
