Chipping Campden, Cotswolds, England
Built in 1590, Orchard Cottage dates from the latter part of the reign of Elizabeth 1. Located in the hamlet of Saintbury beneath the Cotswold escarpment, there are timeless views both across the Vale of Evesham and upwards to the wooded scarp slope. Inside the years drift away; there are flagstone floors with rugs throughout the ground floor, an old elm wood staircase and floors on the first floor. Elm beams are exposed throughout and the internal walls are either of Cotswold stone or elm beams with lathe & plaster between. However, there need be no concern about modern comforts. Thin (internal) walls, very creaky floorboards and... more

Stayed here nov 28th for 3 nights. 6 adults and 2 toddlers. Beautiful cottage with all modern amenities but wonky doors and crooked floors. Beautiful log fire used every night had wonderful time visiting nearby towns and villages but best time was back at cottage with games good wine and good company. Lovely weekend. more

The house is cute, has abundant character but due to the fact that is very old we did not have a pleasant experience. The toilets when flushed make a horrendous noise, therefore couldn't use them at night so as not to wake our daughter. Doors do not... more
